What is a Team Check-in?

A team check-in is where each person in the team can share how they are and what’s happening for them.

The focus is on people rather than tasks or project updates, unless those work items are affecting someone personally.

A typical check-in frequency is once per week. However each workplace adapts it to fit their flow - for some less frequent and others more frequent, even daily.

What Grows

Regular team check-ins build these people skills and cultural qualities.

People Skills

• Speaking clearly and effectively

• Listening attentively

• Empathy

• Leadership throughout the team

Culture

• More effective communication, collaboration and conversations

• Clearer resolution of tensions

• Greater trust

• Stronger relationships and belonging

Leverage the improved people skills and culture to achieve better outcomes:

Outcomes

  • Individual and team performance and profitability

  • Individual and team people skills

  • Team cultural qualities

A fulfilling and alive workplace!

How TeamWeave Helps

TeamWeave supports teams with:

  • Regular Team Check-ins

    • Introductory workshop

    • Attending more check-ins as a leader or support while your team builds familiarity and capacity.

    • Check-in leadership training - for those in the team who will initially lead them. Does not need to be the team leader(s).

  • Measuring the foundations - people skills, culture and outcomes.

Before your first check-in, and periodically after that so it results in the benefits you want.

  • Additional mentoring and support as needed.

Leading a successful small business can still feel unsatisfying

Can you imagine instead a workplace where:

  • Meetings are time well spent

  • Tensions are raised and addressed openly

  • Personal growth, purpose and financial performance are all valued

  • Staff feel connected and seen

  • Mental wellbeing is supported

  • People feel energised to come to work and be part of the team.

Where work feels fulfilling and alive!

Who I Support

• Whole organisations or individual teams
Larger organisations can begin with one team. When the practice has been trialled and understood, you can expand it to more teams.

• Teams participating together
The programs are designed for whole teams to learn together. The exception is the Leaders Learning Program, which is for formal and informal leaders.

• Teams working with Teal or next-stage models
TeamWeave integrates well with Teal and other next-stage approaches to organisational development.

• Teams new to check-ins or wanting to go deeper
It is suitable for people with no prior experience, as well as those who want to deepen the practice and extend the culture and skills into everyday work.

• Coaches and consultants
I can support the teams you work with, integrating check-ins into your existing approach.
